Daniel Sullivan
President and CEO

Daniel Sullivan is a veteran entrepreneur and leader in the medical technology industry in Minneapolis, Minn. Previously, he served simultaneous roles as general manager, Ancillary Division and vice president, sales and marketing, at SCIMED Life Systems, which was purchased by Boston Scientific Corporation in 1995 for over $1 billion. While at SCIMED, he was instrumental in guiding the company to be a major player in the cardiac angioplasty medical device market by achieving more than $300 million in sales by the time it was purchased by Boston Scientific.

After leaving SCIMED, Mr. Sullivan co-founded and served as president and CEO of anastomotic device-maker Vascular Science, Inc., which was sold to St. Jude Medical in 1999 for $95 million. Most recently, Mr. Sullivan co-founded Sinus Rhythm Technologies, Inc., a Minneapolis-based, development-stage company in cardiology, where he served as president and CEO.

Mr. Sullivan is an active company founder and board member of several medical device companies. A veteran medical industry leader, he co-founded Atritech, and sits on the board of NeuroVASxTM, Inc. He previously served on the board of Vascular Solutions, Quannum Medical, NeoVision, Inc. and ACIST Medical Systems, all companies that either completed a successful exit or an initial public offering.

Mr. Sullivan began his career at American Hospital Supply, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Arizona State University.

Thomas Borillo
Vice President of Sales

Thomas Borillo joined superDimension in October 2006. He has 26 years of experience in a variety of positions in the medical device arena, with the last 16 years in interventional cardiology.

Prior to joining superDimension, Mr. Borillo served as President and CEO of Atritech. He previously held various positions with Angioguard (now Cordis, a division of Johnson & Johnson), SCIMED (now Boston Scientific), and Mentor Corporation, including vice president-sales and marketing, vice president – cardiology marketing, director of sales, and national sales manager.

Mr. Borillo has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.

Rick Buchholz
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Rick Buchholz joined superDimension in August 2006. Most recently, he provided contract finance and accounting services for private and public medical device and technology companies.

Mr. Buchholz previously worked at Vascular Solutions, Inc., most recently as CFO, where he managed the financial aspects of the company through its worldwide commercialization and its $48 million initial public offering that was completed in July 2000. He was also a manager at Ernst & Young LLP.

Mr. Buchholz holds a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Daniel Bulver
Vice President of Worldwide Operations

With over 22 years experience in the medical device industry, Mr. Bulver has a broad background in disposable products and implant manufacturing. 

Prior to joining superDimension in October of 2007, he held the position of Vice President of Operations at Anulex Technologies, an orthopaedics company, and Microvena (now ev3), an interventional device manufacturer.  Mr. Bulver also served in various engineering and management positions for nearly 11 years at SCIMED, where he lived in Europe for a year to establish their first offshore manufacturing facility.

Mr. Bulver holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.

Tim Hauch
Vice President of Business Development

Tim Hauch has over 15 years of experience in the medical device industry.  Prior to joining superDimension, Tim served in numerous positions at Medtronic, Inc., most recently as Director of Corporate Development.  In his role as Director, Tim was responsible for identifying key growth markets and defining acquisition targets as well as leading cross-functional teams through a variety of acquisition, investment, license, divestiture, and development transactions, including Medtronic’s recent $4.2 billion acquisition of Kyphon.  Tim’s leadership and demonstrated success in the marketing, finance and business development aspects of the medical device industry make him a core member of our management team.

Tim holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Jay Johnson
Vice President of Worldwide Research and Development

Jay Johnson joined superDimension in March of 2008.  He brings over 21 years of experience in the medical device industry, serving 17 of those years at Smiths Medical Deltec in several divisions, including Vascular Access, Medication Delivery and Diabetes.  While at Smiths Medical, he held various research and development engineering and management positions, including Sr. Manager and Director of Diabetes Research and Development.  Mr. Johnson also led the development of the CoZmo Insulin Pump System which won a 2003 Medical Design Excellence award. 

Prior to joining superDimension, Mr. Johnson was the Vice President of Research and Development for Transoma Medical.  He has extensive engineering and leadership experience in the development and launch of more than 20 medical devices with worldwide distribution.  Mr. Johnson holds 17 patents in drug delivery and diabetes technology. 

Mr. Johnson holds a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Jonathan Kovach
Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs

Jonathan Kovach joined superDimension in May 2007.  He has 25 years of experience in quality management, regulatory affairs, and R&D.

Prior to joining superDimension, Mr. Kovach was Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for Viasys Healthcare Respiratory Care Group.  He previously worked with Boston Scientific, Johnson & Johnson, and Roche Diagnostics in various quality and regulatory management roles.

Mr. Kovach holds a B.S. in Medical Technology from Kent State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix.  He is also a senior member with the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and is a certified quality manager, auditor, and engineer with ASQ as well as a certified auditor with RABQSA.

Mathias Lang, Ph.D.
Vice President and General Manager, superDimension (Europe) GmbH

Dr. Mathias Lang joined superDimension in early 2006.  He brings over 15 years of field experience in the European medical device industry.

Prior to joining superDimension, Dr. Lang served in a broad range of general management, sales, marketing, and business development positions of European subsidiaries for Impulse Dynamics and MetaCure, Biosense, Uroplasty and Johnson & Johnson. He also served as CEO of Vaspharm Biotech, a pharmaceutical company in the neurovascular field.

Dr. Lang holds a B.S. and M.S. degree in Biology from San Diego State University and a Ph.D. (Summa Cum Laude) in Biology from Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms Universität & Museum Alexander Koenig in Bonn, Germany.

Ronen Raz
Vice President of Operations

Ronen Raz joined superDimension in December 2005 as Director of Engineering and Manufacturing.  In early-2007, he was appointed to the Vice President of Operations position.

Mr. Raz has over 10 years of experience in the field of operations. He most recently served as Director of Infrastructures and Hardware Engineering for Comverse, a world leader in the area of telecommunications.  He previously worked on several quality improvement projects for Soroka Medical Center’s Central Quality Unit.

Mr. Raz holds a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Ben-Gurion University.

Noreen Thompson
Vice President of Marketing
Noreen Thompson joined superDimension in November 2006.  She brings over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, serving 17 of those years at Medtronic in several divisions, including Cardiac Surgery, Neurology, and Cardiac Rhythm Management.  While at Medtronic, she held various marketing and sales positions, including Vice President of Cardiac Rhythm Management Market Development.

Prior to joining superDimension, Ms. Thompson was the Vice President of Marketing for Acorn Cardiovascular.  She has extensive marketing experience in launching new products and new therapies in the U.S., European, and Asian markets, including new treatments for Parkinson’s Disease and Heart Failure.

Ms. Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Augsburg College and an M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
